| The latest firmware upgrade from Sony for the PlayStation 3 is out in Japan, adding 1080p24 Blu-ray & DVD (upscaled) playback to the console, among other features. |

This v1.90 upgrade also adds playback for AVCHD files from a digital camera, or Memory Stick. It also supports upscaling for audio CD output over HDMI, or optical output. Additonal features like the ability to adjust video output settings for PSOne & PS2 games & an eject disc option on the XMB. When you're sending messages to friends on Playstation Network, you can now use emoticons. And at last you can change the XMB wallpaper. Keep an eye on the European Firmware upgrade page for the European release, which will be soon. | |
