| Despite the the recent denial of Sony about the price drop rumors of the Playstation 3 consoles, it announced today that it will drop their prices with 100 US$ for the 60 GB model, starting coming Monday. Together With this announcement Sony also reported about a PS3 with larger capacity. |

The new PS3 model will come with a larger hard drive of 80 GB. It plays into the company's upcoming strategy of eventually offering downloaded HD movies, Sony spokesman David Karraker said. The 80 GB version won't be available in the US until August.
Sadly, Sony didn't make any statements about price drops in Europe, or the new model with 80 GB hard drive.
