Xbox 360 price drop is official now |

| Microsoft today announced that it will reduce the estimated retail price of the Xbox 360 by $50 beginning August the 8th. |
“The fact that we have been able to keep our launch price longer than any other console while retaining our leadership position demonstrates that consumers believe in the value of Xbox 360” said Mitch Koch, corporate vice president, Global Retail Sales and Marketing Group, Entertainment and Devices Division at Microsoft.
At a new US estimated retail price of $349.99 , Xbox 360 offers a 20GB hard drive, wireless controller, Xbox 360 headset & more. The Xbox 360 Core System will cost $279.99 & the Xbox 360 Elite will be priced at $449.99.
According to Microsoft the rest of the world will follow later "Today we are announcing a price reduction in the U.S. We will announce other regional price decreases at the appropriate time"
