Four new Bravia Blu-ray/HDD recorders will be introduced by Sony in Japan.

All models are capable of burning 50GB dual-layer, BD-R/RE discs to backup the recordings on the hard drive.

The top model, the BDZ-X90 features 2 analogue & 2 digital tuners (it's not clear yet what kind of digital tuners)

All models use MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 encoding with support for lossless DTS-HD & TrueHD Master Audio & HD bitstream output.

The 4 models have different HDD capacities:

  • BDZ-X90 - 500GB
  • BDZ-L70 - 320GB
  • BDZ-T70 - 320GB
  • BDZ-T50 - 250GB


All models will go on sale in Japan November 8th & the top model will cost about $1,755 (no other prices, or regions  are mentioned yet)
