VLC Media Player 0.9.8a has been released. This is a highly portable multimedia player for various audio & video formats.

VLC media player supports various video formats like; MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, x264, mp3, ogg, ... as well as DVDs, VCDs & various streaming protocols.
It can also be used as a server to stream in unicast or multicast in IPv4 or IPv6 on a high-bandwidth network.

- Security update: Fixed buffer overflow in Real demuxer (SA-0811, CVE-2008-5276)
