Panasonic demonstrated av equipment that supports WirelessHD at CEATEC Japan 2008.

WirelessHD is a specification for wirelessly transmitting uncompressed HDTV video. Panasonic wirelessly transmitted uncompressed 1080p HDTV content stored on a Blu-ray disc by using 60GHz band milliwave. The maximum data transmission speed reaches 4Gbps. The following equipment was used; a PDP TV mounted with a WirelessHD receiving module, a tuner part equipped with a WirelessHD transmitting module, a home theater system & a Blu-ray Disc recorder, according to TechOn. This year at the IFA in Germany Panasonic also demonstrated some WirelessHD equipment. Panasonic has already announced that it will commercialize av equipment supporting the WirelessHD within 2009. | |
