Sony's 11-inch XEL-1 OLED TV, launched in late 2007 was the 1st commercially available OLED display & offers superior image quality to LCDs & plasmas including a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio.

Sony has previously shown a prototype 27-inch OLED screen, but according to CEO Howard Springer it will be produced commercially.

"We're looking for applications for the next generation of the plastic version but this will come out in a 27-inch version fairly soon," Stringer said & revealed "within the next 12 months, we haven't given a date"

No price is mentioned yet, but expect it to be quite expensive.
